(Element Dance) Urban Latina Dance Company
Based in London, Leeds and Birmingham, Element Dance specialize in Samba and Reggaeton Shows and Classes. Formed in 2005 under the direction of Ella Peck (Director, Passista, Rio Carnival), Element have performed extensively across the UK and Internationally.
Element Dance provide short and sharp, or longer shows, which aim to use traditional dance styles to their truest form, mixed up with exciting chorographical ideas, and a fresh, youthful take on Latin America. Some of our greatest performance achievements include Miss Black Britain 2006, 2007, touring India 2006, 2007, Copenhagen 2007, The Wembley Stadium and The opening of Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2007, The Holiday and Travel Show Birmingham NEC 2008, Move It 2008. Element dance also won the Title (First place) of European reggaeton Champions 2007, for their show piece ‘Andar la Gata.’ (See ‘what we offer’ to learn more about specific choreographies….or look us up on youtube!)
Our areas of Expertise are Reggaeton, Samba and Salsa Dance, and we provide dance shows and tuition in these, but we can also provide other dance styles (see Dance Styles for more info). We also offer dancers to accompany Samba bands, Urban Latin bands and MCs, can perform at and open carnival processions, and can choreograph specifically to the requirements of the agency or booking.
We offer Educational workshops, Corporate Team building events. We teach regular community classes for all levels of dancer, and also provide performance opportunities and hold community events.
